Bleh

I woke up this morning feeling pretty crappy so I called my boss (couldn't get a hold of him as per usual) and called a coworker to cover for me today.  I ended up sleeping until 3, which is very unlike me as of late.  I guess I needed it.  About half the girls at work have been sick so I guess it was just a matter of time before I got down with the sickness (ooo ah ah ah ah).

I hate being sick so much because I turn into a big huge giant baby.  I'm needy and whiny and it just sucks.  But I have no one to take care of me, so I just gotta suck it up, take care of myself and rally myself to health for the weekend.  Navy Pier is FULL of people every single weekend and I gotta be chipper and loud and friend and dynamic which is hard to do every day, especially when my boss has me working 40 hours a week 6 days a week.  Not that I'm complaining about the hours.  I love the hours and he's told me that it's because I sell the most tickets out of all the ticket agents, which is pretty effing sweet.  It's still a lot of hours.

The air and water show is coming up in a week which I wish I could get even a little bit excited for, but I will have to be working the entire time.  Granted we'll probably sell a ton of tickets which will mean money in my pocket but it also means that I'll be on the pier the entire weekend. As expected I got invited to do about a million things with a million different friends that I had to say no to because I'll be working.  Boo.  Ah well.  Paying rent is good.

In the world of good things going on... I am almost done with my second draft of my internet movie that I hope to start filming soon!  I think it's funny and the people involved have liked it... so let's hope!  I'm not sure if I mentioned this last time but I've got two new writing jobs to look forward to.  One is gonna be for a murder mystery out of state and the other (crosses fingers) might be one of my murder mysteries performed at SECOND CITY!!!  I probably just jinxed myself right there, but man o man if that ends up happening...

Lastly on Aug 20th movie theaters across the country will be showing Plan 9 from Outer Space with commentary by Michael J Nelson, Bill Corbet and Kevin Murphy from Rifftrax and Mystery Science Theater 3000 fame!  Word can not express how excited I am about this!  Check it out!

I just watched the movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and there were two lines that really struck a chord with me.  They'll never be in AFI's most memorable movie quotes and they'll never be quoted by a bunch of drunk frat boys again and again and again, but they're true and I can relate.

"Loving you is worth everything to me"
"I wish I was there to kiss you good night."

So it's been a while once again since I've updated, but I guess not a ton has happened to me over the past three months.

I love my job at Navy Pier.  It is easily the greatest job I've ever had.  I spend the day outside talking to people and trying to get the cruise.  The other day a guys said that I was so good I should be a used car salesman.  I take that as a left handed compliment.  It's a good feeling been good at my job.  The best thing, hands down, has been actually getting to cruise.  It's amazing!  I love my city, and seeing it from the boat just makes me tear up cause it's just so damn beautiful lit up at night.

I've moved once again.  I'm now subletting a place in Logan Square.  It's fantastic.  The lack of a major grocery store is kind of obnoxious, but the proximity to the Blue Line makes up for that.  My roommates are very cool and are never home on weekends during the summer.  Sadly I have now been in the apartment when they were being intimite with their special lady friends.  Awkward doesn't even begin to describe it.

Sadly not a lot to tell regarding my own love life.  I was seeing a girl for a few months.  She just stopped talking to me.  No idea why.  Such is Mango.

Writing is going well.  Things didn't really work out with the murder mystery company though.  Ah well.  But right now I'm working on a few internet sketches and an internet movie with some friends at work.  I'll try and have those posted once we get the sketches filmed and edited.  Hopefully we'll be ready before the end of the summer.

I feel bad for not using Xanga as often as I used to.  Facebook has just taken over.  Myspace and Xanga just seem so boring compared to Facebook.  Nothing personal Xanga, but you know...

This got awkward...  now Xanga's gonna stop talking to me!  Hopefully it won't be three months before my next update.

Wow... I haven't written on this in a while... so I guess an update would be good...

My job of three years got outsourced to India at the end of March, so I have been enjoying an unemployed month of April... but I will be starting a new job next month selling cruise tickets on Navy Pier.

Some of my murder mysteries will be added to the catalog of a traveling murder mystery company called Murderment that's located here in Chicago.  I have a lot of work to do on that front at the moment...

Tomorrow is my 26th birthday and for some reason no one can remember my actual birth date this year. I keep getting calls and texts from people I've known most of my life saying "Sorry I missed your birthday" or "Happy belated birthday day"  It shouldn't be that big of a deal... the amount of people that don't know my birthday has been a little demoralizing.

My dad got me a really cool vintage Blackhawk jersey for my birthday.

I thinking about getting a tattoo on Friday as a birthday gift to me.  Don't know what to get yet though.
Any ideas?
